I totally ♥ horror comedies and I totally ♥ super gory things and I totally ♥ zombie movies but for some reason I didn’t like this very much. Did I just not get it? I HATED the rockabilly shit going on throughout it but even if I get over myself and forget that ever happened, I still didn’t care for much of this. It’s actually been four hours since I wrote those last sentences and reflecting on this movie, I still don’t like it and I still can’t really figure out why. I think I didn’t like the cast or the way they worked together. I also don’t think the dialogue worked for me. Or the zombie line dancing. Or Diedrich Bader doing German. Or David Carradine. Or Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s lines. Or that guy walking around using that head as a puppet. Or that big bar fight. Or the acting by the stranger guy. Oh well. We each have our own opinions but this one just wasn’t The One for me.
You’ll recognize almost everyone in this from some place or another and they all get pretty bloody in some fashion. In fact, the F/X are pretty awesome – very bloody and squishy – no CGI bullshit, so this has that going for it. But that’s about it, IMO. This just didn’t do anything for me, sorry People Who Made This. In fact, I was so uninterested in this that I really don’t have much else to say.
Bob “Skolnick” Carradine’s kid Ever is hot and her and her irritating friends stay at a B&B in Texas. Some guy puts cigarettes in his mouth and doesn’t smoke them. Someone opens some box and people are cursed and eat each other. A band plays irritating Honky Tonk most of the time. I think I’ll give this DVD to my friend Chris in his XMAS box. Sorry D&B, but I break up with you.
